Dear Member Friends,
Happy Independence Day
Freedom is the aspiration of every human being, every nation, every community, and indeed every living being. India endured centuries of foreign rule, during which her people faced oppression, humiliation, and injustice. Yet, their longing for freedom never diminished. After years of unwavering struggle and sacrifice, India finally attained independence on 15th August 1947.
Countless patriots dedicated their lives, wealth, and efforts to this noble cause. India’s freedom movement stands unique in history for its emphasis on non-violence, truth, and spiritual strength. Mahatma Gandhi was the guiding force of this remarkable movement. Along with him, leaders such as Sarojini Naidu, Rabindranath Tagore, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Jawaharlal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bipin Chandra Pal, Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi, and countless other known and unknown heroes made immense sacrifices for the nation’s freedom.
Freedom is one of the greatest treasures of life. Every soul yearns to be free. On this Independence Day, let us pay our heartfelt tribute to all the brave heroes who secured our nation’s freedom. Let us also reflect upon the lessons history has taught us. Beyond national freedom lies an even greater freedom—the ultimate freedom of the soul.
What is Ultimate Freedom, and How Can We Attain It?
According to spiritual wisdom, the soul passes through 8.4 million life forms before attaining a human birth. Even after taking human form, the soul feels confined within the limitations of the physical body and continually longs for liberation.
Just as there are many paths to reach a destination, there are many spiritual paths to understand the Self, realize the Truth, and attain liberation. True freedom is experienced when one lives in harmony with the Supreme, performs one’s worldly duties with sincerity and excellence, helps others discover their inner Self, and glorifies Mother Earth through righteous living.
Such a person rises above the influence of Maya (illusion) and can control the six inner enemies—desire, anger, greed, attachment, pride, and jealousy. Remaining undisturbed by pleasure and pain, such a seeker experiences inner peace and spiritual freedom.
This noble state can be attained by practising Thrayee Sadhana, as propounded by Sath Guru Dr. Umar Alisha. Sadhana is the path to ultimate freedom and refined living. It blesses the seeker with a righteous livelihood at the physical level, peace and contentment at the mental level, and liberation at the spiritual level.
Dear Member Friends, on this auspicious Independence Day, let us resolve not only to honour our nation’s freedom but also to strive for the eternal freedom of the soul. Let us practise Sadhana, understand the true purpose of life, and experience the freedom that resides within each one of us.
“When we honour the sacrifices of the past, we protect the freedom of the future.”
Jai Hind!
Thanking you,
Till the next newsletter!
Spiritually yours,
Renuka Devi Vangara
