Dear Member Friends,
We wish you a happy Eid-al Fitr. We are just crossing the Ramadan month, and now, Sath Guru’s holy Vaisakha masa tour is starting. In the Islamic faith, Ramadan is the sacred month for staying close to Allah. The Muslim religion followers residing all over the world consider practices done during this month helps for spiritual reflection and growth. They spend time praying, reciting the Quran, and doing good deeds. They donate to charity, spend time with loved ones, avoid lying, gossiping, and fighting, abstain from physical pleasures, and keep fast during daylight hours for the whole month of Ramadan. In the Muslim lunar calendar, Ramadan is the ninth month and is sacred as in this month Allah sent an angel to Prophet Muhammad to reveal the Quran, the Islamic holy book, in 610 A.D. This spiritual revelation became a life guide to all Muslims. The Eid al- Fitr festival is a happy moment for every Muslim and starts with the appearance of the new moon. Any spiritual practice helps the practitioner to live more closely to God.
What is the use of spiritual practices?
Let us discuss this. A human body is an integration of five elemental forces. All religious texts confirm that we are a micro representation of the divine. To live close to the Almighty, we have to learn to control the influences of six temptations, time, and illusion. How to do this? The method to live close to God is by doing sadhana. Sadhana works at three levels that are at spiritual, mental, and physical planes. At the mind level, it bestows peace. Sadhana at the physical plane helps infuse many skills like communication, relation-building, and decision-making skills, instilling intuitive power. In addition to many more skills, it gives the right direction in life. Some people might develop photographic memory, and we can scan a person and detect his/her nature through practice-the sadhana.
Life is precious, wonderful, so short, and no one knows when it secedes. God has given us a chance to lead this life. Now the decision is in our hands. Let us make the right decision and do sadhana to enter into the world of eternity and bliss.
